I Have Discovered – Sangre Sangre. You Should Too!!
Sangre Sangre
Roots Rock / Classic Rock
California, USA
I haven’t got a clue how I discovered Sangre Sangre, all I know is that I won’t forget them. This Californian group (same as Rival Sons) which consist of members from bands such as The Bronx, Shooter Jennings & Scott Weiland Band, play a blistering mix of Americana, Roots & Classic Rock. Do check them out.
“We’re just a bunch of dudes that like playing music together. you may have seen us individually in some of our other bands: the bronx, the strays, stargun/shooter jennings, scott weiland band, the broken west, supersuckers/eddie spaghetti, and death on wednesday. debut album “around here, we’re all ghosts: vol. 1″ out now on white drugs/dead man’s hand.”
The Band: J. Charles Saenz (Vocal,Guitar, Harp) – J. Brown (Guitar) – Jordan Shapiro (Pedal Steel,Guitar) – Jeff “Sky Wolf” Howell (Piano) – Curtis Roach (Bass,Vocal) – Jorma Vik (Drums) – Matthew Rainwater (Drums) – Tim Gray (Guitar,Vocal)
Hot Picks on Myspace: Paris, France & The Gamble
Unfortunately I haven’t been able to find any videos of the band. Do you know of any videos of the band?, then I would appreciate it if you left a comment pointing me in the right direction ;)

The singer (J. Charles) and guitar player (Jeremy Brown) moved to Texas and started a new band called J. Charles & the Trainrobbers. I stumbled upon Sangre Sangre at a Rival Sons show I saw with a friend while visiting LA in 2009, and as fate would have it stumbled upon J. Charles & the Trainrobbers playing with Rival Sons here in Dallas. I LOVE the “Around Here We’re All Ghosts” disc, but the Trainrobbers blew Sangre Sangre’s live show out of the water and although I haven’t heard much (they have one song available on a comp online) I feel like the songs are a bit better… or maybe just more up my alley. They say on they’re Facebook that they have a CD coming out called “Upon Leaving” early next year… we’ll see how it matches up to the Sangre Sangre disc! I also still haven’t given up hope on another Sangre Sangre album… time will tell I suppose!
Cheers,
