Throw The Fight

“Rock and roll is everything,” says Throw The Fight’s Ryan Baustert. “To us, there’s nothing else.”

Throw The Fight are a major up and coming 5 piece from Minneapolis. With a sound described by guitarist Ryan as a “cross between metal, rock and alternative” TTF have already created an acclaimed album and back in 2006 were voted in the top 10 unsigned acts by Alternative Press.

The band have admitted that the unity within the camp since singer James Clark (a Brit who relocated to America) joined the band is much better and this is one of the things attributed to there success.

TTF have shared the stage with many large acts which include Drowning Pool and Britains own pop-rock heroes Lostprophets. As well as these support slots they appeared nationally on the 2007 Warped tour and managed to win a battle of the bands to share the stage with Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine and others on 1 stop of the 2008 Taste of Chaos North America run.

In mid 2009 singer Clark was diagnosed with Testicular cancer and when asked how it had affected the band this is what Baustert had to say: “Honestly, it didn’t have that much of an effect on us as far as slowing down the band goes. He was out of commission for a couple weeks while he was getting treatment. After that, it was business as usual. There is definitely an influence as far as the subject matter goes with the new material we are writing.”

With an EP and one album already under their belt TTF are currently shopping demo’s to labels to try and get a release for their 2nd full length album. Unfortunately there’s far from a concrete date set for the new album with the band just saying it will be released “sometime this year”.

There is a major unity in what the favourite song the band has ever written in “His Blood, My Hands” being a favourite to play live no matter where they go.

You can show your support for TTF by either purchasing 2008’s release “In Pursuit Of Tomorrow” or voting for them to get the chance to play across America on the 2010 warped tour here.

Here’s to hoping TTF manage to get over to the UK some stage soon!

  1. I am confused by the I think third paragraph that says “The band have admitted that the unity within the camp since singer James Clark (a Brit who relocated to America) is much better and this is one of the things attributed to there success.” What does this mean? Since he moved to America, since he got cancer and they are writing songs about it? What a confusing paragraph but GO THROW THE FIGHT!!! I love this band!

  2. Yeah thats a bit of a missing link, i was talking about since James joined! Thanks for pointing that out!
