Black Sabbath cancels European tour apart from Download, Ozzy and friends to play European dates

Black Sabbath have announced that their European tour has been officially cancelled but they will still make one special appearance at Download on the 10th June when they close the festival. The cancellation of those dates is for the benefit of Tony Iommi who is still battling with lymphoma.

To not disappoint fans and let promoters down, Ozzy Osbourne has announced that he plans to perform solo shows on the bands festival and headline slots. Billed as “Ozzy & Friends,” Ozzy will be joined by special guest musicians during the tour. Already confirmed to appear on one or possibly more of the dates is Geezer Butler, Zakk Wylde and Slash, with other special guests set to join the tour on various dates.

Black Sabbath will continue to write and record their new studio album and plan to get back on the road when Tony Iommi has recovered.
