Bloodstock – Evile, Bonded By Blood, Mithras, The Prophecy & Regardless Of Me join line up

The latest batch of bands to be confirmed for Bloodstock Open Air 2010 has been revealed.

Delivering a double deadly dose of Thrash on the main stage will be Evile and Earache label-mates Bonded By Blood. Both bands will be proudly flying the flag for true Thrash Metal, each with their own distinct but purist take on the genre, with sets that are bound to result in a few sore necks come the end of the weekend. Marking Bonded By Blood’s first ever UK festival appearance, their set at BLOODSTOCK’s 10th anniversary festival will be highly anticipated. Says the band:

” This is BBB’s first big festival. We are really excited to be part of such an amazing gathering with such a great line up. With a new album coming out and this fest being confirmed it will be a great year for us. Bloodstock 2010+ BbB will be hell on earth!”

Of course Evile are no strangers to BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR, and are very much looking forward to their return. The band checked in from their US tour to tell us:

“Evile are very happy to be confirmed as appearing at Bloodstock 2010, it being a breeding ground for true Metal talent, and also the exact place they were spotted and signed. Not to mention it having a consistantly great line up!!”

British metalheads Mithras will be making their Bloodstock debut this year. Their unique blend of Death and Progressive Metal with ambient tones have earned the band a solid cult following on the metal underground. No strangers to festivals, having previously performed at the Czech Republic’s Brutal Assault last year, the fearsome four-piece look forward to delivering what will undoubtedly be a punishing set. Says Mainman Leon Macey:

“Mithras are stoked to be playing Bloodstock, the UK’s premier metal ‘fest; we’re looking forward to hammering the crowd with some atmospheric brutal tones, it’s going to be a good one!”

Bloodstock’s reputation as THE festival to introduce new metal acts to the UK is set to continue as Italian Progressive/experimental metallers Regardless Of Me make their UK debut at the 10th anniversary event. The Italian quartet are excited about being a part of the festival, as guitarist/vocalist Emiliano Sicilia states:

“Well it’s a great honour for us to play live at Bloodstock Open Air this summer, it’s the most popular metal festival in the UK!! We’re playing the same day as Fear Factory, Children Of Bodom, Amorphis and many other great bands, we’re so excited, and you will never be disappointed about Regardless Of Me show! We will play on Sophie Lancaster Stage (RIP) and we would dedicate our performance to her. Thanks to everybody for this opportunity. See ya on stage!”

Joining the four above will be Yorkshire doomsters The Prophecy, whose frontman Matt Lawson states: “THE PROPHECY are pleased to be making a second appearance at the Bloodstock festival. Six years and two albums later… we’re back… and ready to really slow things down!”

The Bloodstock Open Air Metal Festival 2010 will take place at Catton Hall, Derbyshire from 13th – 15th August.
