Cake to perform on Live on Letterman webcast tomorrow

Sacramento-based eclectic rockers Cake will take over the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City for a “Live on Letterman” performance. The intimate, 45-minute set will showcase Cake classics as well as new songs from their latest acclaimed record, Showroom of Compassion. The performance will be broadcast live online via CBS tomorrow, June 28, at 9:00p ET as part of CBS Interactive’s exclusive webcast series which has featured diverse talent ranging from Foo Fighters, Adele, Snoop Dogg, My Morning Jacket, Katy Perry and more.

Fans of Cake can view the performance live or on demand on Live on Letterman’s website: The webcast is set to follow the taping of the band’s performance on the Late Show with David Letterman which will be broadcast Thursday, June 30 (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on CBS.

Cake’s most recent triumph, Showroom of Compassion, achieved overwhelming success upon its release earlier this year, debuting at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and receiving praise from the likes of TIME, Rolling Stone, NPR, Associated Press, Entertainment Weekly and more. The band continues to enjoy critical success with appearances and performances on NPR’s “All Things Considered” as well as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Lopez Tonight, Conan, The Late Show with Jimmy Fallon and more.
