How Do Odds Work?

Odds can be displayed in two ways: Fractions or Decimals

You will probably be many familar with odds as fractions (e.g. 3/1). But, you can opt to display them as decimals (e.g. 4.00) should you wish.
The way to Change Odds Format
Below is a table highlighting the gap between the two: Fractions
Decimals
What exactly does it mean?
3/1 4.00
Set #/$1 euro to return #/$4 (#/$3 euro winnings + #/$1 stake)
4/1 5.00
Set #/$1 euro to reunite #/$5 (#/$4 euro winnings + #/$1 bet )
11/2 6.50
Place #/$2 euro to reunite #/$13 (#/$11 euro winnings + #/$ two stake)
Fractions
Whenever you see two numbers separated with a dip, i.e. 10/1, this really is a fractional gambling odd.
Fractional odds permit you to calculate just how much money you are going to win in your wager compared to you stake. The amount on the left(e.g. 10) is how much you could acquire. The number on the right is how much you need to bet.
9/1 for each #/$1 you bet, you’ll win # 1 /$9. Additionally, this can be computed as 1 / (9 + 1) = 0.10 – There is a 10% probability that the event will take place.
1/1 for each #/$1 you bet, you will win # 1 /$1. This can also be calculated as 1 / (1 + 1) = 0.50 – There’s a 50% likelihood that the event will take place.
1/4 for every #/$4 you wager, you’ll win #/$1. This can also be computed as 4 / (4 + 1) = 0.80 – There’s a 80% probability that the event will happen.
Decimals
Whenever you see odds displayed in numerical form i.e. 9.00, this really is a decimal betting odd.
Decimal odds permit you to calculate how much money you will be returned if your bet triumph. Simply multiply your stake by the decimal number shown and that’s how much you will receive – including your bet. The decimal odds are displayed up to 2 decimal places, but the yield will be paid out by calculating in the real odds, to the closest #/$ 0.01. By way of example, if your bet is placed at chances of 4.3333333 (this can be 10/3 in fractional), a #/$10 bet would return #/$43.33 if it wins, but your chances would reveal as 4.33.
9.00 for each #/$1 you bet, you’ll win # 1 /$8. You will also get your # 1 /$1 stake back so your whole return is #/$9.
2.00 for every #/$1 you bet, you will win #/$1. You will also receive your # 1 /$1 bet back so your total return is # 1 /$2.
1.25 for every #/$4 you wager, you will win #/$1. You’ll also receive your # 5 /$4 stake back so your total return is # 5 /$5.
