Jane’s Addiction set to announce well known bassist?

For the second time in the bands career, bassist Eric Avery has left Jane’s Addiction and this time he has been replaced with a rather well known bassist.

Avery started with the band in 1985 when they formed but in 1991 himself and Navarro decided they wanted to leave which caused the band to split.

Over the years the band was together again before splitting for a second time in 2004 and then in 2008 the original line-up joined forces to perform at the first ever NME Awards. Since the reunion the band had stayed together showing their commitment to Jane’s Addiction until now.

As Avery left, the band decided it was time to replace him with some experience and with the new bassist having experience playing with Guns N’ Roses, Loaded, Velvet Revolver and working with many more, they got exactly what they wanted.

Duff McKagan is said to have joined forces with Jane’s Addiction. Already they are said to be playing together, writing and recording new material which will be the band’s first album since the 2003 release of Strays.

We are still waiting on the official statement from the band but it appears that they are working on material right now!
