Killing Joke announce new single, tour dates and Sonisphere 2011 Appearance
Killing Joke will make three headline UK appearances in March/April 2011; as with KJ’s last two UK dates in October 2010, the above shows will feature the original line-up of Jaz Coleman, Geordie, Paul Ferguson & Youth; they coincide with the release of new single/video ‘European Super State’ via Spinefarm Records.
Taken from the band’s current/13th studio album, ‘Absolute Dissent’, released last year through Spinefarm to huge critical acclaim, ‘European Super State’ will be available on CD, download & limited edition coloured vinyl 12”, with all formats carrying exclusive bonus studio & remix material, including a reworking of the title track by Godflesh mainman Justin Broadrick. The 12” will be exclusively available from What Records (www.whatrecords.co.uk)
The list of dates is as follows:-
March 30th – Nottingham, Rock City
March 31st – Manchester, Academy 2
April 1st – London, Royal Festival Hall, Ether Festival
July 8th – Sonisphere Festival, Knebworth House
Once described by drummer Paul Ferguson as “the sound of the earth vomiting”, Killing Joke – covered by Metallica, Foo Fighters, Helmet and more – now stand as one of rock’s most influential outfits, continuing to write and perform songs best suited to the apocalypse (imminent in their book!).
