Monuments release album update

Browne from Monuments has just popped his head out of the studio, to give you all an album update.

“Hey Everyone!

Today is a good day; we finally made a start on the recording/production of our debut album!
We’ve been locked away for the best part of two years making sure we deliver exactly what we want Monuments to be… We wanted a forward thinking record that was heavy & melodic but never forsakes groove, making sure that each song had it’s own ‘feel’ and purpose on the record whilst still keeping a relation between the songs and the meaning behind the entire album.

We’re recording the album in the luxury of our own facility, Studio 33 in South Lincolnshire.
We’ll be here from now until the end of October, and possibly some of November/December, making sure we capture the important moments we are after. We’re excited to finally be at this stage after lots of rewrites/rethinks/quarrels!
We’ll be playing a big chunk of the album at all our future shows, so make sure you catch us at the Basick Records 5th Birthday Party @ Luton SU w/ Tesseract / Between the Screams / Chimpspanner (We’ll be helping Chimp as his backing band), Scotland at the end of September with Paridian, Tesseract’s US Tour Warm up Show in Milton Keynes, Headlining Euroblast Festival in Koln Germany w/ Chimp Spanner / Vildhjarta / Aliases + More, and Europe w/ Winds of Plague / Stick To Your Guns / For Today in the fall.

So, this is it. We’re at the last hurdle and we can’t wait for you guys to hear the finished article!
Until that time you can check out  the ‘Admit Defeat’ and ‘Memoirs 2010’ demos on our MySpace and Facebook pages.
There’s also an awesome video of our drummer, Mike Malyan, playing some of his new drum ideas for ‘Admit Defeat’.

We’ll be keeping you guys updated with studio blogs over the course of the next few weeks, and quite possibly some teasers of the tracks you haven’t yet heard… so keep your ears and eyes peeled.
We’re coming to fuck you and we’re fucking stoked about it!”
