Play For Keeps to perform showcase at The Roxy on 28th May

Play For Keeps (Cash Colligan formerly of The Cab) are playing a showcase in Los Angles at the Roxy on Saturday, May 28th. Tickets are only $12. Rumor has is there will be some label representatives attending the show.

The band is currently in the studio recording a follow up EP to their first self-released record “Goodbye Natural, Hello Manmade.” The first single off the new EP is currently for sale on iTunes and can be streamed on the bands website.

Since their formation in 2009, the band has been gaining a strong local following in their hometown of Las Vegas. The group recently won the contest “Band Battle for Bite” in 2010 to play the music festival “Bite of Las Vegas” where they shared the stage with Switchfoot, Sara Bareilles, Plain White T’s, K Nan, Christina Perry, and Ryan Starr.

About Play For Keeps

From the suburbs of Las Vegas a group of friends found a common interest and ran with it. Play For Keeps was brought together by a love for making music and ability to put up with each other. Front man Cameron Dettman was joined by Brian Jones of former local band Hitting on Hannah, Joseph Gilbert, of At Lines End, and Cash Colligan, ex-The Cab.

Play For Keeps draws their influences from across the board; anything from blues to 90’s pop is fair game. Taking the right steps the guys feel they have found a sound just a little different than other bands. “We know what genre we are but hate the idea of being boxed in musically,” says Dettman. “We’re just a bunch of guys who found a common love.”
