Slam Dunk Festival announces first set of bands including headliner Taking Back Sunday

Slam Dunk have announced that their 7th annual festival, which takes place on 26th May at Leeds University and 27th May at the University of Hertfordshire, will be headlined by Taking Back Sunday for their exclusive UK festival appearance.

“We can’t wait to head over to the UK to play Slam Dunk Festival. It’s a bunch of great bands, some we’ve played with and others we have not, so it’s gonna be cool getting to see and meet everyone. Hope to see y’all there!” Adam Lazzara of Taking Back Sunday.

The festival will also feature Every Time I Die, Cancer Bats, Set Your Goals and Make Do And Mend, all of which are touring together throughout Europe that month and will make the festival dates their only UK shows on that tour. You will also be able to catch Arhitects, The King Blues, Mayday Parade, Forever The Sickest Kids and The Audition at the Slam Dunk Festival with more bands to be announced.

Promoter Ben Ray who started this in 2001 has seen the festival grow over the years; “Again this year it’s been hard work, but I’m extremely happy with how the lineup is shaping up so far. Here are just 10 bands out of over 50 artists, so I’m confident the festival can again deliver a lineup of bands that everyone will agree is amazing value. I also thought it was extra important this year to demonstrate the value so tickets have been frozen at 2011 prices!”

Tickets are on sale this Friday for both dates at £32.50 and £36 if you wish to also attend the aftershow.
