Slam Dunk Festival announces more bands, adds Scottish and Welsh dates

Slam Dunk Festival have announced more bands for their upcoming 2012 festival as well as the Scottish and Welsh dates with their line-ups.

The festival which takes place on 26th May at Leeds University and 27th May at the University of Hertfordshire, will be headlined by Taking Back Sunday for their exclusive UK festival appearance. Appearing alongside them are Every Time I Die, Cancer Bats, Set Your Goals and Make Do And Mend, all of which are touring together throughout Europe that month and will make the festival dates their only UK shows on that tour. You will also be able to catch Arhitects, The King Blues, Mayday Parade, Forever The Sickest Kids and The Audition.

Adam Lazzara of Taking Back Sunday comments: “We can’t wait to head over to the UK to play Slam Dunk Festival. It’s a bunch of great bands, some we’ve played with and others we have not, so it’s gonna be cool getting to see and meet everyone. Hope to see y’all there!”

The latest list of bands to be added to those above are The Blackout, Motion City Soundtrack, Say Anything, Hit The Lights, The Story So Far, Lower Than Atlantis, While She Sleeps, Of Mice & Men, Don Broco, The Word Alive, For The Fallen Dreams, I See Stars and Upon A Burning Body.

The Blackout comment: “Slam Dunk has always been a great festival to play. It’s just a massive party. We’re super excited to be playing it again and there are some cracking bands playing that we’re all excited to see too.”

Announcing their first UK shows in quite a while, Say Anything’s Max Bemis happily adds “We are so very excited to return to the UK on such a great bill… It’s literally one of my favorite places to play shows in the world. We’re honored!!”
