Sonisphere stage times revealed plus other useful information
Just four more days to go before the international touring festival Sonisphere arrives at Knebworth, UK, bringing with it an incredible line up including headliners Iron Maiden and Rammstein’s only UK shows of 2010, exclusive outdoor appearances from Alice Cooper, Alice In Chains, Anthrax, Bring Me The Horizon, Cky, Dir En Grey, Henry Rollins, Lacuna Coil, Mötley Crüe, Papa Roach, Slayer, Therapy? – who will play their “Troublegum” album in it’s entirety – and many many more. In addition to this, a wealth of musical, comedic and other entertaining talent come together to make Sonisphere the highlight of the summer rock calendar.
All that’s left to do now is plan your weekend to make sure you catch all the bands you want to see, so here is the full running order of acts/stages. Why not use the personal itinerary planner on the Sonisphere mobile app? Available on iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Java from uk.sonispherefestivals.com/apps, this handy tool also gives you full and updated to stage times throughout the weekend plus an event map, special announcements, photos and special offers, including a free pint of strongbow in the Bowtime Bar!
As you may have gathered, team Sonisphere has worked hard to make sure you get the most out of the weekend. As one of the principle bookers informs us:
“As last year, we’ve tried our best to ensure we avoid the inevitable festival band “clashes”. We are all rock fans and dedicated festivalgoers in this office, so we always look at things from the point of view of our customer. Our two main stages will yet again play alternatively, plus we’ve timed the other stages by genre rather than perceived popularity to avoid forcing fans to make painful decisions. So if you don’t like Pendulum, you can go see Malefice, if you don’t like Anthrax, you can catch Futures, if Madina Lake is not your thing you can check out The Defiled… see you in the pit!”
When you’re planning your weekend, don’t forget to get yourself down to the Saturn stage at 6pm on Friday to be part of the Time Warp World Record Attempt!
Any updates to these times during the festival will be posted on the official mobile app:

Here’s a little information to help make your weekend run smoothly; Remember to keep your wits about you and look out for one another and most importantly have a good time!
TRAVEL
Getting to Knebworth Park is EASY! Only 25 minutes from London and 2 hours from Birmingham, Knebworth is right on the A1(M) and served by a mainline train station. Add to that the FREE shuttle service and coach packages offered by Sonisphere and you can be sure you will be standing in front of the Apollo stage in no time!
COACHES
Coaches are still available to book through the website. This is a cheap and environmentally friendly way to get dropped off at the gates.
SHUTTLES
A FREE shuttle bus service will run during the scheduled train timings from Stevenage Train Station to the Sonisphere site starting at 1pm on the Thursday and ending once you have all gone on Monday. It will be a continuous service rather than at set times.
BY RAIL
The nearest useable rail station is Stevenage, two miles away. Check www.firstcapitalconnect.co.uk for train schedules.
Please note that there will be NO festival access from Knebworth Train Station. You must use Stevenage station.
BY ROAD
There are two entrances to the site which are accessed via junction 7 and 8 of the A1(M) motorway, 10 miles north of the M25. Signage on the A1(M) will direct you to the appropriate entrance. If using Sat Nav systems, please use the postcode SG1 2AX to direct you till you pick up the road signage.
Ample parking is available on site. Parking can still be booked via the ticket page in advance for £10 or on the day for £20. There is no restriction on re-entry. Please car share where you can!
More information is available on the website
WHAT I SHOULD AND SHOULD NOT BRING
It’s always good to be prepared so think about things you’ll need. Camping equipment, waterproofs, sunscreen, travel documents, ID (if you’re lucky enough to look under 25). Remember to lock away valuables in a locker or your car where possible.
We do not allow gas to be brought into the campsite (this includes Rock Royalty camping) though you can bring a solid fuel stove or barbeque.
You can bring food and drink into the campsite.. Alcohol will be not allowed into the arena.
We are happy for you to bring small digital cameras but we cannot allow you to bring SLR’s into the Arena.
OPENING TIMES
Early Entry Camping (includes all camping areas) – from 3pm on Thursday 29th July
General Camping – from 12noon on Friday 30th July
Bohemia / Arena – 5pm on Thursday 29th July till 3am Sunday 1st August.
Day Tickets – from 12noon on Friday from 8am on Saturday & Sunday
The campsite closes on Monday at 2pm
If you suddenly decide you’d like to camp, come early, buy a locker or bring your car – you can pay for all of this on the day and prices are on the ticket page on the website. However, it will cost you more on the day so if you can, purchase in advance. (Camping upgrades are only available from the box office on site )
ONCE YOU ARRIVE
When you arrive make sure you put valuables somewhere secure. There are lockers in bohemia. If you choose to leave stuff in your car make sure everything is out of sight and remember to lock it!
If you’re looking for information about where, what and when everything is going on then head to the Festival Information point in Bohemia. They will also be able to help you out with any troubles you may have, advise you on the best things to do on site and even tell you where you can recycle your rubbish.
The welfare tent which is located opposite the Bohemia stage will be able to help you should you run into any trouble and will also be dealing with lost property across the weekend and after the event. They are a lovely bunch and even if you just want a chat they’ll be happy to see you.
There is a police station on site should you need any assistance situated at the top of the campsite next to the entrance to Bohemia. If you see anything you want to talk to someone about or that looks suspicious then you can call our crime stoppers number anonymously on 020 3328 9849 and remember, if you’re worried at any point or see something that makes you feel uncomfortable then you can tell a steward or a police officer.
When watching the bands we all know it can get a bit packed at the front so if you get hot or tired then step a bit further back and take a breather. Those of you who like to be squashed like sardines look out for those who want to step out and give them a hand.
Sonisphere fans last year brought a brilliant spirit of community to the festival; let’s keep it going this year. Help each other out and we’ll help you out – see you in the Bohemia bar…
Sonisphere takes place at Knebworth House July 30th – August 1st 2010
Tickets for Sonisphere Knebworth are still available from www.sonispherefestivals.com – with a full weekend ticket going for just £132.50, no booking fee and a host of exclusive performances there is no better value for UK Festival Fans this summer!
