Tarja releases Until My Last Breath single

Tarja, the classically trained singer supreme and the original voice of symphonic rockers Nightwish, has released a brand new single today, 13th September, via Spinefarm Records UK.

Titled ‘Until My Last Breath’, with ‘If You Believe’ (previously unreleased) included as a bonus track, this is the second single from new Tarja album ‘What Lies Beneath’, which was released on 6th September, also via Spinefarm Records UK; the first single was ‘Falling Awake’, currently available on 10” vinyl & download complete with a special guest solo from Five Finger Death Punch guitarist Jason Hook – although the album version of the track has the solo played by Joe Satriani.

‘Until My Last Breath’ has been recorded by a host of top musicians, including bassist Doug Wimbish (Living Colour), drummer Mike Terrana (Masterplan) & cellist Max Lilja (one-time member of Apocalyptica), with production handled by Tarja herself and mixing duties overseen by Tim Palmer (Pearl Jam, Robert Plant).

Meanwhile, a specially commissioned painting of Tarja has appeared on the side of a building in the Bulgarian town of Kavarna; the artist responsible is Jasen Nenkov, who has previously spiced up the architecture of this small coastal resort with similarly outsized portraits of Klaus Meine and Ian Gillan, amongst others!

Tarja will play a one-off show in the UK on October 13th at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire in West London.
