U2 to headline Glastonbury

U2 has been announced as the first band to headline Glastonbury 2010.

For over 20 years U2 have been rumoured to take top spot at the festival, and the band certainly has never hid their desire to perform at the festival.

Though this year the organisers have been stating for a long time that something special will be in store for the 40th anniversary and they came through.

With the organisers promising even more surprises in the lead up to their biggest show, other headline names such as the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Coldplay and Muse have been mentioned to perform the sold out shows.
