Velvet Revolver still searching high and low

Slash has confirmed to fans that Velvet Revolver will be back, but it won’t be till the end of the year, possibly 2011 as his solo album is taking full priority and also the fact he cannot find a singer to replace Scott Weiland.

The group split on April 1st, 2008 after Scott Weiland announced in Glasgow, two weeks earlier, that this was their final tour. Having attended the show, the announcement made by Weiland shocked the band while in mid-performance and resulted in Weiland leaving the stage for 5-10 minutes before returning to finish the set.

Slash and the other members of the band stated at the time that there had been no discussions that resulted in any possibility they would split and fans should rest easy but one month later the band would meet their end.

Having a chance meeting by being on the same flight together this month, Slash stated that he has “no issues” with Weiland and was looking forward to his new material with reunited Stone Temple Pilots.

With the chance meeting being noted, Slash was asked to confirm the future of the group, in which he stated that they would return once touring had completed for his solo album. At that time he will actively seek a new lead singer and move on to recording the next album.
