Volbeat to support Metallica and AC/DC plus new album details

Volbeat will be celebrating the completion of their brand new studio album with high-profile shows alongside two of the rock’s most legendary names – Metallica38; AC/DC.

From May 11th – 23rd, the Danish four-piece will be main support to Metallica in Belfast (Ireland), Budapest (Hungary), Zagreb (Croatia), Lisbon (Portugal) & Lyon (France), then the following month, on June 20th & 22nd, they’ll be playing with AC/DC in the German towns of Dresden & Berlin.

The metallic rock‘n’rollers will also return to the UK’s Download festival this June (11th – 13th), an event they first appeared at last year; just prior to this (June 2nd), they will special guest with Spinefarm UK label-mates Rammstein at the 10-Oren venue in their hometown of Copenhagen, Denmark.

At the moment Volbeat are recording their new album in Denmark with regular producer Jacob Hansen. Titled ‘Beyond Heaven / Above Hell’, the record sees the band returning to a story started on previous outing ‘Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood’ (2008). This new album, the group’s fourth since starting out in 2001, is scheduled for a September 2010 release via Spinefarm Records UK, preceded by a single in August.

A full UK tour is currently being discussed for the Autumn.
