While She Sleeps release This Is The Six music video
have released a music video for ‘This Is the Six,’ the title track of their debut album which will be released on the 6th August via Search And Destroy records.
“’’ is an invitation for people to join us, to get involved,” frontman Loz says. “We look at ourselves as the ‘five’ and the fans as the ‘sixth,’ and the six of us are on the road, touring together. We’ve all known each other for so long, so we have this really close bond. We’re a unit.”
“It sounds heavier than previous songs but not just musically heavier,” Loz says. “There are a lot of messages in there that quite deep and meaningful – so the whole album in general is a really heavy listen. It takes you on a real emotional rollercoaster of a ride. One minute it’s heavy breakdowns and guitars screeching at you, and the next it’s us singing along and chilling. It’s brutally honest, whether we’re talking about England, religion, the people we’ve met on the road…”
The album is the follow up to their critically acclaimed EP ‘The North Stands For Nothing.’ “I think that anyone who’s into our band is ready for some new stuff. We’re equally gagging for people to hear it, too, and all we can hope is that people understand what we’re about. We can only cross our fingers that people will get on board with us – and I really think they will.”
Loz has also spoke about three of the song which will appear on the album:
- ‘Love At War’: “If it wasn’t for 16-year-old kids back in the day signing up to fight for our country in the past, we wouldn’t have what we have now. This is about how the your of today don’t appreciate that or even think about it all that much.”
- ‘False Freedom’: “It’s about our views on religion and how it affects people that follow it in their day-to-day life. We kind of feel like we don’t really need it, and that you don’t really get much out of it. It’s saying ‘don’t be a follower’.”
- ‘Surrounding Me’: “This is my favourite track on the album – hard-hitting and energetic. It’s about a way of looking at humans as creatures, the scum of society, and how it’s time we all made some changes.”
The band have previously released a music video and the lyrics for ‘,’ the first song to be released from the album.
