Album Review: The Amorettes – Haulin’ Ass
Want sex fuelled classic rock anthems? The Amorette’s are for you.
Haulin’ Ass is the first release from the all female group, and as good as it is musically, I have my reserves about it overall.
Almost every track is just like your every day classic rock song, it’s all about sex, drugs and rock n’ roll, with the odd bit of fighting in there as well.
Now it’s probably just me, but it just sounds like every other classic rock album out there.By any means if you are a fan of classic rock, this is certainly an album for you, and if you’re a big Motley Crue fan then even more so this is your kind of album, but it’s just not quite there for me.
Musically the girls are great, I can hear the technicality throughout the entire album and they are definitely a band, that if the recent upsurge in classic rock bands continues, can go much further than their upbringing’s in West Lothian, Scotland.
But it’s just not got that wow factor for me, I’m sorry girls, but as good an effort as this is, you need to find just that little bit more creativity lyrically to have me hooked on every word.
